Our client in Pemba is looking for a Security Officer to join their team for a job vacancy within the Mining Sector.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the security, safety, and protection of all personnel, visitors, assets, and mining premises, preventing theft, fire, trespassing, and other risks.
- Monitor and control site access, traffic flow, and patrol operations, enforcing company policies and mining security procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergencies (fire, accidents, security incidents) and coordinate appropriate actions in compliance with safety regulations.
- Prepare detailed incident and surveillance reports, documenting observations, investigations, and witness statements.
- Maintain compliance with company standards, legal requirements, and Mining Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) regulations.
Requirements
- 10–15 years of experience in the Army or Military Service.
- 2-5 years of proven experience as a Security Officer in the Mining Industry.
- Strong knowledge of security operations, fire prevention, access control, and emergency response procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and professional interaction with employees and subcontractors.
- Proficiency in English and intermediary in Portuguese.
