Our client in Pemba is looking for Senior Health, Safety and Environment Officer to join their team for a job vacancy within the Mining Sector.
Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and management systems in line with company and legal requirements.

Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all operations.

Lead and support incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.

Perform regular site inspections, audits, and safety walks to ensure safe working conditions.

Monitor permit-to-work systems, high-risk activities (working at height, confined space, lifting operations, hot work, etc.)
- ISO 45001:2018 Internal Auditor certification (highly desirable).
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal Audit Certification (Highly recommendable).
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience and exposure in Health, Safety and Environment
- Previous operational experience in HSE, preferable mining, construction or heavy industry.
- Proven exposure to IMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management systems).
- Engineering degree or Technical Institute or equivalent.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate and or SAMTRAC or equivalent.
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management (competitive Advantage).
